Here we are again! The sixtieth WoW for XvT has come to a close. You would think after 60 months of doing the same thing for a week, things would get a little boring.

Well, think again!

Though starting off as your average WoW, on the last day, pilots and observers alike were treated to a breathtaking crescendo!

Wing I's Epsilon Squadron was in the lead for most of the WoW, with CosmicDebris and FilyBuster leading the Squadron's call. However, they were pipped to first place by Raider's Phoenix Squadron!

With mere hours of the war left, Raider put out a call to his Squadron, to try and rally them, and close that 150k lead held by Epsilon Squadron. They obliged.

As shown below, the gap was closed and Phoenix even made a near 400k lead upon the WoW's dramatic climax:

Wing IV's Commander Lord Hexer had only this to say:

CosmicDebris held his head high despite his squad losing first place at the eleventh hour. His squad gave a huge effort, and without it there would not have been any last minute competition to worry about!

He posted this on the Phoenix comlink minutes after the WoW's finish:

"My hats off to you all on winning WoW. All of you gave Epsilon a run for its money. However, in the end you pull it out and took the lead. What I saw in the zone was a most impressive effort put forth by your squadron. Phoenix, I salute you all. *S* =)"

Raider, with jubliation of his squad's victory, had this to say:

" I was amazed at this WoW, that started with everyone saying that there were no games available. Look at CosmicDebris who Top Scored 1.8 million points in 45 games. I tell Phoenix to fly smart - fly when opponents are there - not when the room is empty.

Cosmic paid Phoenix a very big tribute.(See above) Those are very kind words, and it was wonderful seeing six Phoenixians flying on the final night and day, at the same time. However without Cosmic and Epsilon we would not have had a competition and he valiantly held Phoenix off single handed for over three hours with the lead changing multiple times!

Phoenix just won this WoW - the difference in scores does not tell the whole story. It was a very close fight and I know it is hard when a team leads and loses. I remember Phoenix's 2nd place by a few thousand points. I am pleased Phoenix won the WoW, especially as we had 10 pilots in the air. I think this is the contributing factor. Every pilot counts, and the team with the most pilots is often the winner.

I barely feel like a Squadron Leader, I feel much more part of a team. I have never flown so many games with so many of my own squad. I noticed that we all helped each other out. That really made this WoW LX victory special for me!
